Fuel Pump Hanger Filter??

Does anyone know a way to bypass that filter inside the pump hanger? I know it can't be serviced but if I could bypass it and put another filter inline to replace it that would be nice. I'm pretty sure its clogged and I know its old so.....thanks

No I swapped out a loud walbro 255 for a aeromotive 340 and the car barely stayed running. I had to keep feathering the gas just to keep it running and fuel pressure never got above 10psi. so I put the walbro back in and its doing the same thing now. Before the swap it was working perfect I just wanted a little more fuel for the ported intake manifold and throttle body I'm about to install. I already checked the plugs and no fouling at all. It's starving for fuel and the ONLY thing I did was swap the pump. Any ideas???

I've got a 12 volt pump rewire kit installed. I found an old thread where another guy had the same issue and it ended up being the rubber insert on the bottom of the fuel pump is blocking the priming hole. You just have to cut a little bit of the rubber away and let it breathe. I figured out my problem, mods please close this thread.

I am having this exact problem!! Been tearing my hair out (see my other thread).. Hopefully you are still around - how did you solve this?? Looks like you mentioned the filter inside the hanger (which I didn't know about?), but then mention some rubber blocking the priming hole... Can you confirm what solved it for you please?

Thanks!

S.

Hey Rom, the second picture in this thread shows the filter element inside the plastic housing for the fuel pump.
