Try unplugging your fuel pressure solenoid? Might help with startup

I'm going to try cleaning the maf again but just to remind you guys the car is idling fine while driving. Just occasionally the idle drops to around 500. My main focus is why my car won't turn over unless I pump the gas then I have to hold the pedal to allow it to warm up

Mine was the BISS, which was fixed once I figured out how to CORRECTLY adjust it. Other than that, it could be your cranking fuel enrichment?

what procedure did you use to adjust the BISS? i only ask because i was given correct info, but with a key point or two missing.. and if you did yours how i first did mine, it may not be right LOL.

if someone messed with your IACV then that would suck. there is no need for that to be touched. but if they did.. then nothing you can do is going to make up for it. well, except replace it, i guess, as you don't know exactly what he did.

A lot of people including myself have had idle issues with cams, and a tune that were due to maf. A good amount of people tried everything you can think and last thing you do... SD conversion... Problems gone forever. But of course it could be the tuner in these situations.

That's possible. I've had no issues. That being said, I've always preferred SD top MAF. If not for living I CA, I wouldn't still be MAF.

Yeah SD is the way to go for sure ... just maybe with a different tuner...

Guys I really appreciate your time and your input but I'm not going to run speed density I don't care for it. Another thing I forgot to mention is my greddy turbo timer has been acting up badly the past few months, there was even a point that my lights nor my heater would turn off after removing the key unless I played around with the wire even when I had it shut off. Could this be the culprit to my idling problem??

turbo timers have been nothing but issues for me in the past. i don't use them any more. they can cause all kinds of strange issues. i say rip it out now. save yourself the trouble and eliminate one possible source of problems.

I try and turn on my car it's running so rich at at 10.0 afr reading, and I'm hearing a ticking noise from the front of my car around the engine area, everytime it clicks my fuel pump changes it's whine from a low to a higher pitch. I really need someone to help me I literally have no other car to get me around and I need to fix it but no mechanic knows what's wrong

Im leaning towards this. I think the issue going on here is this car is just more finicky with the aftermarket cams and the MAF. Mine really was before I retuned. It would stall out if I let off the throttle too quickly, or going uphill and letting off the gas. When it was cold it was fine, but not warmed up. Finally got around to retuning it and its still somewhat there, but now the tune compensates and when my idle dips the rpms rise back up right away. From what everyone is saying, it seems like to get the best driveability with aftermarket cams is to convert to SD.

I would almost be willing to bet if OP swapped in the oem cams, and retuned for it, these issues would disappear. I might have a set of oem evo 8 cams you can try, let me know.

At this point I would start by starting from the beginning. Put the factory parts back into the vehicle. I do not like the idea of modding further to correct a problem with mods. In this case, I do not like the idea of changing to speed density just to support the mods you have; cause clearly you have a problem. Do not mod mods to correct a driveability issue. Do you have a proper scan tool? Do not sell your vehicle because you have run into an issue. They're machines, they can all be fixed. Some problems are just more difficult than others. You can do it, do research and use this website and others as your resources to guide you. One step at a time. Problems like this are easier to diagnose if the factory parts are installed in the vehicle.

Do you know if the IAC currently installed in the vehicle is an aftermarket sensor, or a factory part? If you don't know, please ask the mechanic that installed it.

Good advise right here...

Too many times people, and even shops, take this approach, add aftermarket mods to fix a driveability issue. Go put stuff back to stock first, I even have stock cams I can send you if you wanted them.
