I had the "exact" problem with me ef3 a while ago I wouldn't make boost till 5500 rpm.. I ended up talking to Nate at map he had me send it in and turned out I bent a pin in the comp housing which caused me to lose preload. They fixed it under warrenty sent it back and now after 30k miles still running strong and doing work spools much much better now.

Hope that helps I'll try and find the emails between Nate and I for more info on what happened. Hope this helps brother
Do you mean the lever arm on the turbine housing for the wastegate?

Here's one of the emails from Chris at MAP

Hi Jon,

It is a locating pin for the compressor cover to the bearing housing, essentially the comp cover rotated based on the force of the actuator causing the turbo to lose preload, hope this helps!Chris Carey - Founder & President

Hell I had maybe 2k miles on it and that's a stretch to be honest but it happened right after I was tuned on my toxic fab o2 dump litterly the night I got tuned I drove home woke up the next day and had 16lbs of boost lol

Hopefully it helps man if not give map a call they have amazing customer service and Mario brothers music when your on hold.

I wonder if this 'bent pin' issue has anything to do with the turbine housing issues they were having in the past

JFA, not a stock bottom end, it got the full treatment about 1 1/2 ago. I got the compressor cover correctly seated, no longer leaking and still the same thing. Boost log is identical. Im at a loss the only thing that hasn't been changed is the WGA. Its a turbo smart it has to be cracking open? that or could my timing be off but the car still pulls hard?
