Is my IX a 340

Hi. I got my evo a few months ago. I bought it as a 340 and has no reason to think otherwise. When I phoned to insure it they said it was a fq300 but that's happened before on previous cars, so I just corrected them. Today I phoned mitsubishi for some seals and they said that my reg was a fq300 too. I read a thread that breaks down the differences in the models and mine has the decent interior, keyless entry and the fq340 badges like it should but no smartnav, unless people remove it these days?? I know there's not a lot of difference if you do a few mods and mine had a decent exhaust when I bought it but that's not really the point. Is there any definitive way of knowing or should I just assume it's a 340 because it's got a few bits even the 320 apparently doesn't get as standard according to this thread

Hey where near Cambridge? I'm in Bury St. edmunds.

From what I read about the FQ series the 300-340 were basically the same except for hp output. Unless you have the paperwork for the car which states it's a FQ-340 not entirely sure how you would tell them apart

I know it's not really important and wouldn't make much difference because I'm getting it remapped anyway, but things like this do bother me. I'll check out the logbook and see what I find. I live in Royston mate. Home of many of the skanks and ***** of Hertfordshire

I have been traveling a lot lately and remember seeing the signs for Royston.

Get it confirmed with the VIN number. I think the only difference was the remap.

I've had a look at the logbook but there's no way of telling, so financially it doesn't make any difference i suppose, plus I've got the decent leather interior and 340 badges so I'm happy to call it a 340. Once I get it remapped it won't matter anyway thanks for the replies

Royston's not a bad little place. That's if you're looking to get messy, laid or into a fight anyway lol
