Tuners in NJ area

Hi,

I am looking to get my Evo tuned. I was going to go with JrTuned at Prestige but he won't be there for over a month.

I was thinking of going to Ivey tune, after reading a lot of previous posts about how good he is. Just I am hesitant since one of my closest friends went there with his Evo and does not recommend. He said Ivey tune isn't the same as before, since now he is focused on GTR's more. His tunes with Evo's aren't as careful and he just remaps quickly with cars he has tuned in past. The issue was the tune caused his car to fuel cut and knock at the drag strip almost blowing his motor. After re tuning at Tach Motor Works in Long Island everything was fine (too far for me).

Any comments or advice on other locations.

That's correct, they're closed as they're moving their operation somewhere in NY. There is a post on NASIOC explaining the situation.

We are the same, but the cars are a lot older now and some in poor condition. For every guy that has some bull**** story about a tuner, I can give you reality.
There is a lot of heresey a lot of know it alls and a lot of people who think they know.

Having done so many of these cars with great success I don't even argue with them anymore I just keep doing what we have always done, the best we can for the customer.

Still open, still very busy on a lot of platforms!

Thanks for the kind words, we strive to do the best job we can, and I am glad you experienced that.

I'm glad Mr. Ivey posted on here himself as I've heard and read so many posts about him not tuning evos anymore. It's good to get information from the source.

We still tune alot of evos, but we have been turning away some that are either in very poor condition (this # seems to be growing) and are not ready for tuning, or cars that are built full elsewhere and are brought here only for a tune, there is alot of headache when things are not done properly and the cars are brought here and we decided to opt out of doing them when they are super heavily modded somewhere else.

We have been tuning a lot of evos, for the last 8 yrs and nothing much has changed. A lot of shops in our area have gone out of business so a lot more traffic comes here.

We are also one of the top GTR tuning shops nationwide holding many records and servicing every aspect of the R35, we are VERY VERY busy with those cars also, perhaps some are upset about that but business is business.
