SS Autochrome/ XS Power FMIC for Evo IX/EVO VIII Review/Install
So I was in the market for a FMIC for my EVO IX, And I heard about the FMIC that SS Autochrome/XS Power offered. I wanted to show the community how it fit, looked and ended up feeling like after install. I had heard good and bad about them, but my experience with the FMIC is that it takes significantly longer to heat soak, and my car is not KNOCKING at WOT at all anymore since the install, which made me really excited.
I received the box from SS Autochrome extremely fast, And the kit with piping, couplers, clamps and FMIC ran me 195$ shipped.

Unfortunatly i thought Dave did a review on fmic setups like this in comparasion with a quality one and there was a drastic difference.

The inside of the core is what makes an intercooler perform or just look like it performs
Frankly, for $200, I doubt this one will perform. If it does, it's because you're on a stock turbo and can't heat-soak it so you don't notice it
I doubt it'd hold a candle to ETS or any of the "big-name" brands in a real test

Well I'm running 25 psi on pump and 27 psi on e85. Car isn't knocking anymore, and doesn't feel like it's losing power like the stock fmic. So I couldn't be happier.

Well the thread from "dave" is 7-8 years old, and the cores have been updated 3-5 times since then, The entire industry has improved, and SS Autochrome/XS Power have revised their FMIC multiple times. The thread has no proven data, just statements saying the AMS fmic was 40 degrees cooler than the XS Power one after a second pull. Regardless, I just wanted to show the community an alternative, that is affordable and definitely better than stock.
The FMIC had perfect fitment, looks great and got rid of my knocking at WOT that i had with my stock fmic. So id say it was a success.

Ive seen these run at 500-550 whp
No issues.......I rather have an ETS, AMS, Buschur or Even Muse.....but hell not everyone has the money for a decent core.
On EvoX Depo Core have worked great......
Friend did 10.9 on an AMS Replica....not sure if it heat soaked but for that one pass it was great oh by the way on an FP RED.....no T3/T4/VBand type of kit...
