Question re:Methanol/Water Injection, HELP!!
Im not sure if im reading this correctly. You should have a seperate tank elsewhere in your car for the 50/50 mix. The mix does not go in your fuel tank. I have a aquamist kit been using it for 2 plus years i have a 2.5 gallon baffled tank in the trunk. I have used less than 8 gallons in two years. Mine is triggered by injector duty cycle not boost and progessivly sprays more as the duty increases. If you drive like a nut you obviously will use more juice. A good meth system will have a failsafe as well, to lean or no spray it will dump the boost therfore saving your engine.
Today, same thing in the exact same stretch of road only this time, the car bogged down so much that it was around 2-300 rpm. Car shut down. I pushed off to the side of the road, turned off the switch for methanol, started up and it ran at 200 rpm. I let it run, pushed the throttle cable a bit and it bumped to around 600, waited 2 mins, pushed the cable again, bumped back to 1000. If I would have to guess, it flooded the intake with too much, (which might explain my rapid depletion of methanol in the fill tank, [dial setting 1-8, which he had at 8]). Let the car sit for another 7 mins and drove away, no white smoke ran fine. about halfway to work, i turned back on the pump and turned the dial to 4 instead.
Pretty sure im gonna remove this thing, I need something more reliable than this like.... NOT running meth injection. Anyone else agree? no? thoughts?
What kit is installed? Personally i would remove the system and replace with an Aquamist kit. For no other reason than its a rock solid piece. I'm not an expert by any means but i believe that 100% is not good for a number of reasons. Its hard on grommets, seals and pump parts.

I currently have the toggle turned down to 4 on its 1-8 dial setting. I spoke with Dave, the previous owner, and he said, he normally ran it at 6 but it may have been nudged in the glove box because of his storing the car at winter last year. (its only got 29,500 miles on the car) but that he also lowered the manual boost control and that that may have potentially also affected the intake of methanol? I guess that might make sense, but i think at this point im considering rmoving the system altogether. I use it as a DD and really dont care about racing it. I'm 35 and I just want reliable (but fun) transportation around. (low maintenance) I would consider the aquamist or snow performance but my time is limited in removal and install of a new meth system and I do almost all my own work. Only realy way to get to learning i feel. But since I dont have thousands of dollars to mess around with blown engines and gaskets and whatnot, I havent decided yet. If i can fix this problem and reduce my methanol intake, i'll be happier.
You should not *****-nilly change the meth volume like that. Remove it or you will be replacing the Engine block soon. Too much spray will wash and wear down your piston rings in a hurry.
