I have a European manual of a Lancer Evo:
Unlike US model, it specifies 20W50 oil for all normal temperature ranges above freezing.
US model uses 10W30 for emission purpose on cold start and cruising fuel economy, but I think it's hard to argue with better protection of heavier oil.

If I had 600hp motor, presumably with forged pistons, with looser clearances in the order of 0.004" piston to wall, I would use 15w50.
And I would use Motul 300V because it's hard to argue with it's performance.

93 octane fuel and it has methanol injection. Not sure about whether pistons are forged. In description of build it just says "diamond pistons, titanium retainers, GRP aluminum rods, oversized stainless valves, hks custom cams".

Makes sense, my stock block, stock motor, seems to like 0w40 over 10w30. For built motors, maybe a 15w50 should do just nicely.
