evo overheating
evo overheating
my evo is overheating and from what i have learned is that the thermostat is not working..
now what i learned from my mechanic is that the thermostat isnt working so the coolant isnt circulating as it should, so he advised me that if he removes the thermostat completely the car would stop overheating as the water will continuously circulate around the engine..
is this true? wil it be better if i remove the thermostat?

Everything works as a system now days and it's important for it to be at operating temperature.
Stat is an easy and cheap fix do it.
This^^^ and if you really overheated the motor---you are likely also looking at a headgasket job as well.

haha that's an old trick, it works on older cars with no problems but you don't want to do it unless you live somewhere that is ridiculously hot. Just buy a new t-stat, they're cheap anyways
It was supposed to be cooler too!
Don't install it, get an oem one instead.
