What Oil to use with e85
Pick an oil, send it for UOA after a few thousand miles, then you'll know how said oil is doing in YOUR motor, adjust you OCI accordingly
Don't worry though the AMSOIL fanboys will be here 3....2....1 telling you thats the only oil you should ever use

He maybe smarter than you and he may look at the ZDDP, TBN to ensure it handles how the ethanol dilutes the oil faster... sending in a sample is reacting after an issue is there and not being proactive.

I use Shell Rotella 15W-40 Heavy Duty Motor Oil for the winter & I use Valvoline VR1 20W-50 in the spring summer & fall. Then again it's a preference & learning what works well with your car & set-up. I'm running E85 2.1 high compression motor so I change my oil every 1200 mile so I keep it simple. The Valvoline VR1 is high in zinc which is good for your internals.

To the OP: In Cali, I would run Mobil 1 10w30 year round. I run 5w30 here when it gets cold. Just change oil sooner than on pump gas. Good luck!

Any oil that has an API GF-5 or SN rating is suitable for use with E-85 and turbocharged applications. From API's Oil standards guide the description of GF-5 certification is as follows:
"Introduced in October 2010 for 2011 and older vehicles, designed to provide improved high temperature deposit protection for pistons and turbochargers, more stringent sludge control, improved fuel economy, enhanced emission control system compatibility, seal compatibility, and protection of engines operating on ethanol-containing fuels up to E85."

I personally use Mobil 1 5w-30, I have been running E-85 for 5 years and have had 0 problems.

I've used it in every one of my cars with no issues at all.
