First of all thanks in advance. I just would like to see if everyone agrees about lifter tick on this. I don't want it to be a wrist pin or anything but regardless I love this site and trust your opinions. Well, here is the link to the video when the car is stone cold:

sounds normal to me!! i have owned several evos and they all did this

 

usually the injectors make loud ticking sounds but yours sounds like a single lifter...

 

i hate this tick... ticks me off lol

i bought my evo about a year ago and this was my first evo/mitsu ever...this noise damn near drove me crazy...all of the dsm mechanics i saw laughed and said welcome to dsm world...they said maybe a lifter is ticking a bit but all good no big deal...im like wtf...

 

They all make some noise. But, if you can hear it inside the car with the windows up I say time for new lifters.

 

i showed my buddy who has built hundreds of evo and told him i wanted the no tick lifters...he said if you want to but dont be surprised if it still ticks when you install them...he said mines wasnt so bad hes seen worse and cars fine...mines sounds something like that video...

 

Thank you guys. Yes, I can hear it with the windows rolled up inside a little. I will find the lazy one and bleed it and try to clean it. I appreciate it guys. These cars are noisy like a yz450 motor.
