Wow almost same decision like i made year ago. I joined Army and bought me my dream car(Evo was my dream car since I played GT series in playstation,R34 is next =D). I bought my evo day before christmas. I had 735 credit score. I got 6.0%(that was lowest interest rate) They will not offer 0% interest on evo(but I heard 0% on Evo few years back)
Now I drive my dream car with few mods.
Being in military is fun. Also you get big money on ur hand.
They will give you place to stay, fed u everyday, and even take care of you.
So you are left over thousand dollars on your hand every month.

Its depends on you but make sure Mitsubishi pull up ur credit. Also you need Co-signer due to ur only 17.
I was 25 when I bought my car and had plenty of credit history so didnt need co signer.
Also since ur 17, get ready to pay over 300 for full coverage insurance bill.
With 600-700 a month for the car(Depends on downpayment)

If you are willing to pay over 1k for Evo, get it or wait till over 21.
I tried to evo before but insurance killed my dream few years back.
Now I only pay around 90-100 full coverage.

Oh I'm only E-3 Army boy. Finally getting my citizenship soon so i can go OCS.
I pay around 700 for car and insurance and save 1k per month to my account.

When I bought my EVO back in '03, I put $8,000 down on a 6 year loan. That brought my payments down to $385 a month. Insurance was $115 full coverage when Wifey broke it down between both our cars. Her CRV was $50 a month full coverage.

By the way I'm a Staff in the AF.

Agreed. This thread stays open as I'm not about to silence the voice of one of our own.

**EVERYBODY** Please read the whole thread, then continue on in the spirit it was intended: advice for the military folks out there aspiring to own/currently owning an Evo. Thanks. Carry on.

You know this tread is probably going to stay open for a long time, if nothing else in memory of him... no i didn't know him, but there is allot of information in here, and also a good example of what not to do with our cars...
