Catch Can question.

Ok so my question is this; Most people install one hose of a catch can with a breather to the valve cover and the other side to the intake pipe.

What would happen if I did one side from the PCV in the back of the valve cover to the can, then capped the other side off. Then the other side of the valve cover to the other side of the can, and capped the intake tube off.

so basically all blow by is going straight into the catch can and nowhere else. Is this a thing, am I retarded?

You are describing a recirculated catch can vs non recirculated.
Recirculated goes back to the intake pipe as it vacuums the vapor from the crankcase/head.
Non Recirculated uses a vent to catch the vapor being pushed out by crankcase pressure.

I assume by the awesome drawing that its a non-recirculated setup. In which case is fine.

I do prefer a close system personally, because I like the idea of the intake helping to draw pressure out of the crankcase. I ran Saiko Michi catchcans on my old Evo, and the closed system works really well. Just a note, on the PCV valve, its completely closed under boost, rendering the vent useless to relief crankcase pressure.

I appreciate it dude! My buddy is a fabricator and this is what he made for me. He runs a very similar one on his supra.

With a VTA setup, make sure you monitor all the time. Your can will fill up quick if you're always WOT

I have a JM fab catch can, it has a si gle breather and the recirculated setup. I'm pushing about 500hp on 30psi on a ported FP black turbo and an AMS 2.3RR sroker crate engine. Ive been looking into the STM catch cans because they have a greater capacity and some with dual breathers. The one I have now will spray everywhere if I run to hard, or cruise at 80mph+. Oil and yellow gunk on the windshield/ engine bay for days... Anyone else ran into this issue?
