I was shopping for an Evo 9 again recently and unfortunately had to stray away. Two nearly stock low mileage 9's around me sold for ~ $28,000. Too much money for a 9 year old car for me.

Yes you are correct only the ones you listed

The non RS and non MR evos do not have aluminum roof. Which is alot! May be 80% of this forum!

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...f-fenders.html

all IXs have Aluminum hoods and fenders. only the Roof's were different.
Aluminum roof - MR,SE,RS
Steel Roof - GSR, SSL

This is interesting fact to have figured out. For future buyers too

With this being the last year for Evo's I would assume Evo 8/9/10 will hold their value fairly strong. Most Evo 8's are fully depreciated too!

I just had chance to sell my 03 at 20k and denied so it's safe to say they're holding value

Just picked up an 04 VIII RS with 76K miles for 15K. What do you guys think? Did I score or was it a fair deal?

it might be a good deal for you, but most people don't want to mess with a "built" car

Exterior is in excellent condition hardly any scratches or rock chips on the paint, car came with bigger front mount, upgraded fuel pump and injectors, cams and garrett bb turbo.

I agree with this but more specifically. Save your Money and hold out for the right one. I just purchased an 05 RS with 40k miles for 17k and It was one of the best evo purchases I feel I've made so far. They are out there but very few and far between. If I had to sell it I'd ask 25k so you can find good deals and cars that are cared for.

Don't settle. Get the right one.

this is the RS I picked up. I put the wheels on, the rest was there.

Resale value is all relative to condition no matter what model, the mivec head and other small improvements of the 9 are nice to haves and old guys like me getting into Evo s look out for these as the one to get, just like I'd look out for a twin supra or an Aus built r32, it's the old guys who have the money, general terms.
