evo 8 resale value / buying another one
I agree with this but more specifically. Save your Money and hold out for the right one. I just purchased an 05 RS with 40k miles for 17k and It was one of the best evo purchases I feel I've made so far. They are out there but very few and far between. If I had to sell it I'd ask 25k so you can find good deals and cars that are cared for.
Don't settle. Get the right one.
this is the RS I picked up. I put the wheels on, the rest was there.

I would. you're kidding right? please look at production numbers and how rare they are do your research. here in Canada some of us would pay up to 35k for a clean rs. same as you guys In the states would pay 30k for a supra. we think you're crazy here..sales are nation wide and the right buyer would travel a ways to get the car they want.not to mention conversion rate from cad to usd. we have to pay 25% more of your costs right now. I know someone who dropped 40k on an EB evo 9 last week.

How much power?
I'm brand new to threads in general so I'm fairly certain this is in the wrong place (if someone wanted to mive it to the right place that would be awesome) but here's my question: I'm looking at getting my first evo, its an 03 that has a lot of mods. I personally am fine with everything that's been done to it but he's claiming it makes mid 500whp on pump and mid 700whp on e85. However, he has no dyno numbers to prove this. Basically what I'm asking is does this setup look capable of these numbers, and how drivable street wise would something like this be? I currently have a 91 z28 that is completely stock and makes 340tq at the crank, would this evo be way more ridiculous of a car and would it even be capable of being a daily? Also roughly how much has been invested into a job like this? I don't want to pay too much Here's what he's done to this thing:

Full race exhaust manifold
Twin 46mm precision gates
Full race downpipe

+1....

No way man. I guess if you couldn't wait and needed one right now you can pay top dollar for one. I found a clean 06 GSR with 55k miles no mods for 20k. No way I'm paying 5k more for a EVO 8 even if the latter has lower miles.
I also found a RR 2005 RS with only a catback exhaust, 35K miles for only 22k, and I talked them down to 21k. Its actually at a dealership. If anyone is interested let me know since I have turned down the deal.

guess some people do their research others don't. I'd been waiting on this evo for quite a while
You do realize that I'm talking about US used market right? Well of course Canadians would pay more because EVO 8s and 9s never made it there. Also 40k for an RS is not especially rare. 25k in US dollars is more like 35k in Canadian dollars right now. So you are saying you would pay 35k for a 40k mileage evo when there are other clean lower mileage RSs out there that sells for less?
