evo 8 resale value / buying another one
sold my last evo 8 a year ago and kick rocks everyday on why I got rid of it. Anyhow, planning on getting another evo. was debating between a x or 8 but recently after seeing the resale value going up on 8's and 9's I think Im going to go for 8 because I believe they will hold their value better?? I have a truck on the side so it will NOT be my DD and I will be switching between my truck and evo probably 50/50.
That being said, should I get a cheaper evo 8 with higher mileage or wait for the good deal and spend 15k on one with lower mileage???
I feel like It would be better in the long run for me to get one with lower miles/ and obviously hold its value better for low mile evo 8's are harder and harder to come by.... any insight appreciated !!!!!!

If you are going to buy one go for Evo 9 RS or 9 MR they have aluminum hood, front fenders and aluminum roof. People tend to over generalise Evo's but they all not exactly same and over look small details that play huge in to the price. Look at things like bilstein shock absorbers, aluminum body parts ( lighter than carbon fiber , but heavier than dry carbon) . I would find anything in the model row Evo 8-9 RS or MR other Evo's dont have same stock upgrades like RS or MR, thats if you want to max Evo experience, I would avoid anything that was messed with because you do not know exactly what kind of time bomb you are getting yourself and I am talking about reocurring issues in poor mods or something that will blow up in your face due to unbalanced mod ( like a aftermarket clutch that will rip your stock differential and transmission in to pieces after sometime) .......

under 80k is low miles? i guess we all are on the wrong page.
under 80k is relatively easy to find if thats what you consider is low miles.
to me low miles is under under 60k. before the first scheduled maintenance.
since u have another car, just keep kicking rocks. as you know, evos are expensive for repairs. so make sure u get one extremely close to stock as possible. for me suspension mods dont bother me, but engine mods do and excessive whp/wtq numbers do as well.

But now that we're dealing with a ~10 year-old car, the ones with under 60k (and even 80k to an extent) are only going to get harder and harder to find. So the definition of "low miles" for a car that has been out of production for quite some time will change as the years pass.
