guys just got my EVO and seems like i got a couple of problems that i was wondering if there normal...

1. at low speeds on gradual turns my steering wheel and the body seem to "vibrate" a little bit.. is this normal "open" diff vibration? its very noticable!

2. i also get this "creaking" noise from the suspenion..is this normal? i

3. i dont know if this is realted to problem #1 but something in the fdrivetrain is causing a "marble in the can" type noise seems like really bad! I also smeel some burnt tranny smell

Monday ill be bringing the car in to the dealer just want to get some feedback, i can tell the dealer

I'm not too sure about the first one but I get creaking from my suspension. Do you get it when you let off the gas? I don't know whether or not I had it before, but after my accident I noticed it. It doesn't seem to be anything. And I get clunks randomly when going into reverse/first if that's what you're talking about for 3. .... Actually i get lots of noises...and I'm not too sure if they are normal. I just pray that my car doesn't fall apart

1. Normal, gets better after break-in.

2. Not normal, give it some time though to see if its just teething.

3. Normal, all DSM's and Evo's do that.

4. Smell is normal too...goes away.

I had clicking in my rear diff that has since gone away.

I haevnt really noticed it as im letting off the gas (at least i dont remember if i did) When i take off, my friendse can hear some "creaking" i wonder if its coming from the clutch as somepeople have said there clutch makes noises?? but im almost for certain its coming from the suspension..

1. gotcha.. the vibration in my steering wheel is really annoying! is this from the "open diff" causing this?

2. what do you mean the suspensioin is "teething"?

3. so that "marble in a can" noise is normal? the weird things it only seems to happen once in a while, not all the ime

4. it seems im smelling clutch or a trans buring up cause of low tranny fluid.

see ya

1. I haven't noticed it in a while.

2. teething, like a baby. Give it some time to wear in before you decide it is a problem.

3. just normal.

4. I know, it REEKS. Smells like clutch, but it aint. Will go away with time.

Hey vicbdn, the clunk noise you are getting from your car when you go into 1st/reverse gear is a bearing on your rear axel, i had that problem to. Im sure you have launched your car fro 5k RPM up and dropped the clutch. You gotta take it to mitsu and get the bearing replaced. And dont worry its under warranty, they wont charge you for that.
