MAF bolt size

Hi guys,

I am in need of longer bolts to replace the current ones from where the MAF tube meets the cone filter. ( 4 bolts).

Anyways, if someone could tell me the width and thread pitch of the bolt will be great.

Here is a pic of it: (the bolt is about 3/4 inch long and about 1/4inch diameter. It is a 10mm socket, with a phillips as well.

Thanks!

Bro, even if you get the size of that bolt, you'll have to go to hardware store. So why don't you grab that bolt with you and find what you need at ace hardware or Home Depot

Converting that to mm using the web gets you M6x20.

Thanks.

@Egis, the problem is that none of the hardware stores carry stainless steel metric bolts, so I need to know the thread pitch and the width (which is most likely M6) to order them online.

Am I spoiled to have a couple good local hardware stores that carry a decent assortment of metric as well as stainless metric? I didn't know that was a rarity but they certainly have a better selection them the big box stores.

Anyway, I dont have the answer for you but regardless of if they have them in metric you could still stop by and determine the right size and then order stainless ones online. Maybe someone else will chime in with the answer you are looking for but if you have a hardware store close to you, you should be able to figure this out quite easily yourself.

1.0 is the most commonly used. And judging from the picture you posted the number of threads correspond with the metric side of your tape measure, it is pretty close to one thread every mm. Another place to take it to would be the dealer's parts dept. and depending on what your fastener needs are, may or may not be cost effective. i.e. quantity.

If ordering online and you live by the east coast I would give belmetric a try;and if you live by the west coast, try allen's fasteners. There is also McMaster carr. I have no affiliation with these companies, just utilized them in the past.

Yea, I will pass by the hardware store and determine if possible. It does look like the 1.0 pitch as suggested, so an M6 by 1.0mm pitch is my guess..

I am in Canada, and can't find SS metric in the big stores like HomeDepot, Lowes, Canadian Tire, etc..

Anyways, thanks for the help!
