anyone ever have any issues running space saver?

Hi guys,

just wondering if anyone has ever had any issue with the AWD system when running a space saver (spare tire not the same size/specs as wheels) and had any issues?

im just asking cos im going on a weight saving pillage and wondering if i should ever puta space saver on, or just tow in an emergency situation.

thanks in advance ~

Because of the AWD system, I have been told that even a small amount of difference, like 1/4 inch, could cause irreperable damage.

I do know someone that ran a donut on a subie for a month and didn't have an issue. Although I also have a buddy who FUBARed his transfer case for the same thing.

If you drive an Evo 8 like mine with an open front differential, disabled rear differential and only drive to where you can get a flat fixed, I'd say zero problem.

You'll need to flat bed, not tow so it will cost more, better just keep your space saver and get the tyre repaired asap

Nothing is wrong with my wheels (touch wood) i was just asking if it wasnt safe to run then i might as well remove it and save weight lol!

But from the comments I think ill play it safe and just remove it from my car and enjoy the very minor weight savings without it + the car jack!

fyi i have a JDM evo8 acd/ayc in the rear.
