lessons you've learned when working on your Evo

I just learned one last week, if you're going to work underneath your Evo don't use 12 point sockets, use 6 point sockets, alot of the bolts are **** tight and its not worth damaging a head just cause your eager to get something out, like the plug on the rear diff :-/

Use a blow torch to take out any bolt and nut.
Use antiseize on every single bolt, stud, wheel bearing, etc.

Patience is a virtue. Most parts have to be ordered online to begin with, so when you are ordering parts to do an install, always order everything you can possibly think you are going to need. Even if you don't end up using it the install, at least you will have it layin around

Always check your clutch pedal adjustment when you sense anything iffy with your shifting

When removing the front center undercover to jack up the front, pull the front tires onto a piece 2x12 so you can get the extra clearance to get to the clips and scews.

Always trust your instincts. If you feel like you're going to **** something up, you're probably about to **** something up.

try to have a spare nut/bolt for anything that will be removed. it will snap/seize on you.

Don't assume the 4G63 is a simple motor. It's not like the Hondas that we have worked on in the past. Take your time doing the timing belt for example.

Talk dirty to the car while trying to do tough jobs. It vents frustration and the car will give it up easier.

Use Kroil and blow torch for seized bolts. Way better than PB.

Everything takes twice as long as you budget.

Don't expect anything to fit like OEM.

If you think your FF build is going to cost you x amount........double it

If you think your FF build will take x amount of time........triple it

(Applies to other builds as well)
