Looking to buy Evo IX MR

How's it going new to evos looking at a WW ix mr. Car seems to be some what stock but used at a lot so no clue fully. Has intercooler piping, aftermarket heat shield, and catback from what I can tell. 35k on it and not to sure on what to look out for. Assuming it had mods done at one as has gauges as well. Also any clue on what the wires across the motor are?

Find a local shop that specializes in evo's and have them do a Pre-purchase inspection on what ever car you are serious about moving forward with. They are cheap and will save you piles of money and grief down the road.

The wire across the valve cover looks to be the sensor wiring for a EGT bung in the second runner on the manifold

What made you get out the N54 and into a EVO? HPFP's and water pumps?

Ended up totaling the car lol, hpfp never gave me an issue and the waterpump I had done under a warranty. Was fun fbo jb4 plus 4 gallons of e85 but looking for a change and always loved the IX's

Definitely get a compression test before buying! It doesn't take long, and is pretty easy test to weed out a lot of cars with hidden nightmares

Take it to a performance shop and have them do a full inspection. I didn't and I regret it. I though "wow this runs great and is really fast!" But ended up paying for a rebuild.
