Evo 9 broken mivec banjo bolt
Hey guys I broke the block side banjo bolt with the check valve inside the block while trying to torque it. It was leaking a lot so I replaced the crush washers and it was still leaking so I gradually tightened it a little at a time and it never stopped leaking.... Eventually it broke. How do I get the broken portion out of the block without pulling the motor ? Not a lot of room to work with. It broke at the end right where the check valve is. So I can get the part of that bolt out with the head of the bolt and a small amount is stuck in there; the end of it . Ideas?

You got a picture of what we are dealing with? Not going to be easy but if the center is hollow then you might be able to find a tool that wedges to the middle with a few taps of a hammer then it's like a socket on the end where you can use a wrench to turn it out. I know snapon makes that tool. Used it at work from coworker before. Google Snapon extractor set.

I was thinking the same thing. I think I have one of those at work I can borrow. I can't remember if the set I have at work has a hand tool that goes at the end or if it's for a drill (which obviously won't fit.) I don't even think I can get a hammer back there to tap it in unfortunately. I'm hoping it's not super tight in there and I can get it with a screwdriver or something....
Might not get a hammer in there but pretty sure you can get something heavy enough to give it some good wacking!!! Worst come jb weld a nut to the end of a cheap tool if it's not the snapon set? The snapon set allows for a wrench or socket to finish the job.

Even when I get this out... I don't understand how I could replace the washers and torque the bolt until it snapped and at no point did it stop leaking...
Use new washers or try to get copper washers as they are easier to crush. Maybe when you tried retorqueing the bolt, the washers was already somewhat crushed so you are applying more torque to that bolt? That's why they always say to use new washers? Just a thought cause I never had issues before as well. But I hope you can get the rest of the chunk out.
