Help!!! Trunk wont close

Hey EvoM,

So the Evo 9 was sitting in the garage for three months due to some money issues, but I leave the trunk open to store the new parts. Now i have the car running but now the trunk doesnt want to close. My key and latch works and moves the mechanism on the Trunk Lid but i cant shut it for some reason. By the way this is the original trunk that came with the car.

I have 2 trunks so I change them frequently

Loosen the 4 mounting bolts that hold the arms to trunk. Not too loose.

Close the trunk & nestle it in side to side looking at the body gaps

Tighten the 4 bolts & you should be lined up

BTW, leaving the trunk open likely moved it out of place

Once i loosen the bolts and shift it side to side was it supposed to lock and then i tighten the bolts back?

Yes, once you get it lined up & locked in place. Open back up & torque of the 4 bolts
