I don't even agree with the wording of a lot of the petition but here's one attempt to clean it up at least a little bit. I started out trying to bold the changes but there are several things that had to be removed and it's not possible to show removed text so the editing of this is not exactly correct. If I were writing to a major company (even if their product build quality is sub-par that doesn't mean you can use poor grammar or informal writing style) I wouldn't word it this way, but here you go.

We have been reading and hearing about the possibility of the Evolution MR coming to the US Domestic Market (USDM) by year's end. Topics regarding the Evolution MR have generated a lot of interest on Mitsubishi enthusiast Internet forums. Most everyone is in agreement that this is the type of car Mitsubishi should have brought to the USDM last year.
The USDM Evolution VIII is already an awesome car but the thought of the more potent Evolution MR coming here has many car enthusiasts drooling. There are many buyers who don't currently own Mitsubishi cars that are waiting for just such a car to be available. The Evolution MR is the car that will bring these buyers to your dealerships and hopefully give Mitsubishi loyal customers for life.
A lot of people that bought the STi went for the higher performance numbers and the extra features not found in the USDM Evolution VIII. To gain back marketshare from that sort of buyer the Evolution MR needs to arrive here this year before Subaru has time to gear up a response. If the Evolution MR is already on its way to the US, consider this petition as proof that there is indeed a great deal of interest in the MR, and that bringing it here will be a profitable decision.
Sincerely,
The Undersigned
I'd also recommend replacing words like "awesome" and "drooling". If you want to be REALLY formal, don't use any contractions. (for example "don't" becomes "do not")

Went to check the FAQ
Definitely can't change the petition after it has been submitted
JRock, If you want to rewrite the whole thing I'm sure everyone here wouldn't mind, I know I wouldn't
You take the ball
If the MR can get here faster with a better more professional statement then hurry up and get to work

Signed.
I will pay cash for an MR the day it becomes available. I am holding off a current model Lancer Evolution purchase pending the release of an MR.

I dont want the evolution MR to come over. Why? Because I have an Evo. Arent you happy with what you have? I sure am. So ya, get MMC to ship us the Evo, then we all have to sell our regular Evos for way less than they are worth. Then we can pay way more to have the 2 letters at the end (MR). Not worth it IMHO.
Be happy with what you have people!

Last Friday I was about to leave work early to go buy a silver evo. I called my sales guy to make sure that the numbers were the same and the ***** tried to give me alot less for my car than what we agreed on. So I decided to wait to see what will come out for the evo and the sti. This could be a blessing in disguise.
