Everyone flashing highbeams at my EVO

The last couple days I have noticed that about 80% of cars flash their high beams at me when I passs them at night. I'm thinking they are just jealous and think I'm a cocky bastard. I drive a rally red evo with VII tails and an VIII badge. Could it also be from my license being reinstated two weeks ago? Any thoughts?

It's probably because they think your HID's are your high beams so they flash you to tell you your highs are on.

I always figured it was either because my HID's are really bright (raised them) or because the susp is so stiff any little bump jolts the car and to oncoming traffic it looks like you are flashin them.

whyZguy, Soflabby, et al., when the headlights are adjusted to see far down the road, hitting bumps will make them angle up into people's eyes.

at first i was like "bah! i need to see, they can deal with it!"

Then i got in front of the car myself with the lights on and realized how DAMN BRIGHT the headlights are when you're in their range.

the best thing you can do for yourself and the public is to aim them down one notch from where they are while you're around town, and then raise them for the freeway or backroads. the knob is on the dash, might as well use it.

another thing to consider is what might happen if you blind a cop and he gets pissed about it. that could get ugly quick.

Yeah I was about to say be careful about flashing back since it could be law enforcement and they don't think highly of that. I also notice I get flashed more often if I have my low beams on along with my fog/driving lights. From a distance a) they are very bright in sequence and b) look like one combined beam until you are closer.

If I leave just my HID low beams on I rarely get flashed. As for jealousy, come on now!

Most people don't know what the Evo is and heck that's there loss. Those that do, usually revere it.

Last night I was cruising home with my HID's and fog lights on. I was beamed from behind after I passed up a Firebird, and he kept his high beams on. I was gonna slow down to beam him back, but he was going like 5mph below the limit. Screw that, I just left him behind.

Those HID's are pretty bright! When MP5 was in town for the Vishnu Dyno day March 13th I noticed how bright the HID's are. We went out Sunday night and I had to flip my rear veiw mirror down so that he would not blind me as he was following. I felt like I was being pulled over and the officer had his spotlight on me. Most of you know what I am talking about!!
