Help. Tricks to un-pinning conmectors?!?!

I have my motor out so while its out I am cleaning up my wiring harness. I've breezed through all of the sensor connectors and such easily, but these connectors the come thru the driver side kick panel grommet are kicking my ***.

Obviously the standard pull the lock tab back and slide the pin out method isn't quite doing it. Any tips on how to accomplish this?

May be a similar concept to removing a DSM pin with the way the clips are positioned in the plug to retained in the pin.

There was a little lock strip you had to pull on the connectors, once I did that it was fairly easy.
