Flushing oil
Nope, I haven't left yet. I questioned this process because I too was given a card with my GSC cams that said to change to conventional oil and run on this oil for about 30 min. Then it said after that to change the oil again and only run on that oil for a 1000 miles. Seems like it's pretty excessive, but I do care about my car and want things to breakin properly. So I wanted to hear what others had to say. Thanks for all the posts.
I'm a sceptic. People drive with sticking lifters for thousands of miles and say the noise is normal. The rollers survive that pounding without damage. I like to do an oil change right before major engine work. It makes the work environment much cleaner. An oil change right after would perhaps remove any debris that fell in while the work was being done. But I'm not convinced you need to do it for the cams.
