Invoice good?
Dealers do not always pay invoice for a vehicle, period. That being said, what they do pay depends on a great number things. How many manufacture certifications they have for service level, competency level of their technicians, and how much they sell in overall volume of vehicles. It also GREATLY depends on the car, obviously a car like the EVO is going to be much closer to invoice than say a regular econo-box that has production numbers in the quadzillions. For example, my father bought a brand new ford truck this past year. He has worked (sub-contract not as a direct employee) for this Ford dealer for almost 10 years. They gave him a good deal on it, because they are a high volume, highly certified dealership; and they are a family run business that he is friends with. The truck's MSRP was 38K, the invoice on it was somewhere around 34 or 35. He paid just under 30, because that's what they had in the truck after it was all said and done. They could do that for him because they sell A LOT of Ford trucks.
There is more to the price than just what they pay for the vehicle, there is service, time, factory "incentives", etc. So invoice for an EVO one place will be the most outstanding deal of the century, and another place will be totally different.
Also you have to consider that the 04 models are right around the corner.
Just my 2cents from working around dealerships for 8 years before my current office job.

I assure u its the truth, i could show u the yellow form but i dont know how to post a pic up. If anyone can help me out, let me know cuz i hate for fellow enthusiasts to lose out on a good deal. And its 24.8 not 24.5k with 3.8%APR.

For what it's worth I live in MN and have been negotiating with two different dealers for about 2 weeks. These two dealers have 11 EVO's between them. Both salesmanagers have pretty much told me to name my price on a 03'. My salesman pulled the invoice set it on his desk and said ,"have a look". I went down the invoice and noted that there was 300 for advertising and 500 for destination along with the normal dealer cost for the wing and sunroof. I then said how much dealer rollback is there on the car? He then produced another folder and handed me another sheet showing all the rollbacks. It is currently $540.00 on the EVO. The bottom line here kids if you can find the right dealer(too many cars, dealer in truck country etc..) you can steal one of these things. I may offer 26,000k flat and see what they say. I would not be surprised if they took it-
