Invoice good?

My local dealer offered me invoice on a black Evo with sunroof and wing. Seems like I should be able to get under that, considering they had 5 left still. The GSM said: "I will not wh0re these cars out, they will sell themselves". Good luck with that one pal. Would you guys take invoice on a car that's been sitting out there for who knows how long? The GSM was also under the illusion that the 04 won't be out until end of the year, end of summer at earliest.

just 2 more day and you will see April coming......and the dealer still have 5 evo (03 model) in the lots.

by saying the 04 will not come soon......they're just try to sell you the car now so you dont have to wait.

I say you should get it for under invoice.......but honestly, the longer you wait, the less likely you can buy a 03, especially if that 's the colour you want. So is still up to you. Good luck

btw, I bought mine 300 under one month ago

hahahhaha illusion huh? invoice is pretty good...what does it matter how many he has left?? what makes u think you SHOULD be able to get under invoice what reason do you have???? invoice obviously is what the dealer pays to get the car, y would he go under invoice and LOSE money just for you, like he said they will sell themselves and I'm sure he WILL HAVE GOOD LUCK with that one, im sure if you dont buy it at, someone else will buy it, these cars have no trouble getting off the lot...we had this guy buy the car for markup because he frankly didnt give a crap, he wanted the car, he bought it for about 38grand, theres going to be at least couple of people that will pay full price for the car and be satisfied because he has the money

$38K for an EVO is stupid high. I paid $28,800 for mine, with all the options. Mine had sat inside the dealer's showroom since it came off the truck. It was the last one they had too. "Sell themselves" is bullpucky! Don't believe the hype man, dealers don't EVER pay full invoice for a car. However dude is right when he said that they won't take a loss to sell it to you. From all the people I've talked too, you can expect to pay full MSRP + up to $1,000.. But that depends on where you are located and the dealer's inventory. Which if he has 5 like you said, then I would expect to pay right at MSRP. I was thinking of buying an STI at one point, until they told me that they wanted $6,000 over MSRP for it, plus another $800 since it was Java Black Perl. And I had CASH. I told them to go to hell, then went and bought an EVO for MSRP and got a better car.

Agreed.. Anything over $30K at this point (for an 03) is lame. Either go somewhere else or haggle a little more. I paid $28,400.

Forgot to mention that I also bought mine the first week of January too.

Tell them to wax your dingy, and go elsewhere!

you still around uh? btw, typer430, if i remember correctly, is working for punte hill mitsu in SoCal...

first i would like to say i got my EVO from whittier mitsu and they sell it BELOW invoice $27995+tax+fee with wing+roof... if you live in SoCal I have no problem showing you my contract/invoice if u come to socalevo meet.

typer430 promise to give me a good deal around end of december last year. the best he could do is $200 OVER invoice.

so what make us buyer think the dealer won't want to sell it below invoice now? it's still a 2003 model and car depreciated. I say get it below invoice ... if not just walk to other dealer...

one more thing... the $27995+tax+fee is meaningLESS without APR.. so here is my APR -- 5.5% for first time buyer!

now typer430... u still think dealer wouldn't sell it below invoice? take a walk dude

Yeah, I agree.

At this point sounds like you should be able to get it cheap. The price I mentioned was 4 months ago. Plus I don't live in Cali, where I'm sure there is quite a few more available.

My question to you is WHY NOT....

A very simple theory of SUPPLY & DEMAND can explain all this.
when the car first came out......more buyer than car = msrp or even markup.

Now we all know cannot sell the car as they thought......more cars than buyer = the price MUST go down.

as for those paid 38K....they are not rich.....they are dumb *** and sucker, IMO

you may be speaking from a seller's point of view cuz u work in the dealership.......but remember, we are the customer, the cheaper is ALWAYS the better.

Just to put a little sanity on this conversation...invoice lets the dealer get out of a car that he needs to get rid of, and make a little bit of money too. Fair deal for you too, so I'd go buy it and be happy. You could prolly haggle for hours over another couple of hundred, but what's the point....?

I mean, I don't get out of bed for a couple of hundred bucks, why hassle around for that kind of money, especially if you have a good relationship with the dealer and like their service.

invoice price is great for a car such as an evo..... dont be *****in about it. but hell if you arent in a rush, wait for the 2004 to come out or wait until the 2004 comes out so you can take advantage of the super low 2003 price

got mine for 28000+tt&l a little over 2 weeks ago with sunroof and cf wing, I thought that was a great deal. I know this dealership manager fairly well and he did also say 2004 evo's won't be out until june or july. I simply couldn't wait any longer and there are no significant changes to 2004 (unless leather and subwoofer is significant to you). I say go for 28000 +tt&l, fair to you and dealer. Remember our evo's are limited production as well, however I agree there are quite a few still on lots, but as word gets out they will sell them at invoice my bet is that they will be gone fairly quick. Invoice on any car is a good deal for the buyer, my 2 cents.

if i could call the shots, i would, whatever my boss says goes, bc mind, if u wanted that price 27995 +fees, we could have gave it to you(READ the NEWSPAPER YOU WOULD HAVE SEEN THE AD and thats only 1 AT THIS PRICE) I have no problem with you BCMIND, honestly I'm trying to help you guys out, but don't get mad if i can't set the price I have to argue with my boss to lower the price, im not supposed to quote price(I cannot do that) but a kid the other day bought one for under 30 OTD with fees and all

plus the guy who paid 38 didnt give a crap he had money(this was before i was working there, only been here 4 months, im only 18, so dont think that I ripped him off or anything, he agreed to that price and paid cash on the spot)

BCMIND, how do you have such top end cars if you're a first time buyer? those are freaking crazy nice cars, I have the ///M3 myself
BTW I'm glad you got the price you wanted or whatever, if you came down i could have helped you out, i cant sell you a car over the phone, if you want me to take a hike, thats fine too...I'm just saying, try us out, and if you're not happy(I'm not happy) but thats fine, I can't say taht i didn't try

As bcmind did, I purchased the car for 27995.00 + fees but I recieved 3.9 on the financing, so this can be done. Dont let the dealerships BS you. Im in ventura county by the way.
