Financing difficulties
Used car dealers can order the car for you to if your preappoved. They just bid online for the cars they want to stock on the lot. Get in good with a used car manager. Show him your preappoved and see what he can do. Some managers are awesome and some suck.I hope you get it sone
Fair enough. To each their own, but performance-wise there isn't much of a benefit to the STi vs WRX aside from the 6 speed and some of the controls inside... I'm not trying to push you towards Subaru from the Evo as I believe we are all on the same page as to which car is better

There is a huge difference between the two. An STi can somewhat compete with the Evo, a WRX is more like a Lancer RalliArt.
With the 2004 2007?? I absolutely must disagree. With all the bolt ons and the largest OEM turbo available,I made less than 300 wheel horsepower with my 2005 WRX. That 2.0 sucks. The STi makes WAY more power and a butt load more tq. Plus it has aero the WRX didn't get, 5x114.3 hubs, and more.

Between 2004-2007 or 2008 even I would agree, but since then there hasnt been much of a reason to buy the WRX over the STi. Very similar performance numbers with both cars, and for me personally I see no reason to buy a new STi over a new WRX with the money saved you can build the WRX. Only reason I said this was because he said an STi or Evo were the only cars he'd consider buying new.
Just putting brakes on the WRX to equal what's on the STI would be $4k or more. I wouldn't buy either at this point. The STI would be an option if it eventually gets the new FA20 motor, but that's it.

slightly related to initial question regarding financing, does it make sense to get full coverage insurance if you buy the car above the KBB and NADA values? I mean you will get some money back but not everything you paid...

What about if the car is owned 100%, no banks? Does it still make sense to get full coverage if the insurance company will only give you 1/3 or 50% of what it's worth?
If the evo is your 2nd car, insure it through Hagerty or American Collectors Insurance. They typically limit you to 5000 miles per year, but you can insure it for a set value, and the rates are very reasonable. Imo, 5000 miles/year is plenty for a non-DD evo.
50% is better than 0% if you don't have full coverage. But that is a personal financial decision you would have to make on your own.
My Evo is my second car, but it still gets more than 5k a year. I could just unplug the VSS though since I have a gps in the car that tells me my speed....

**edit: I literally just got a call back from Hagerty. They say my car is uninsurable because:
It is over 5yrs old
Has a value of less than $30k
Bummer because their quote was half of what I'm paying now and with higher coverage on a couple parts of the policy. Looks like I'll be sticking with AAA.
