I'm looking for a link for the Evo 9 water pump from gates everything is showing for a 03 to 05 evo. But when I go on mapperformance for timing belt kit the water pump option shows one for a 8 and one for the 9. Although can't find a link for the 9 pump itself.

 

The gates water pump is EVO 8 only. Those other part numbers are OEM parts. Gates doesn't make a 9 water pump.

you can use an evo 8 pump on a 9, the alternator bracket is different to my understanding, so you will end up using 1 less bolt or something like that, it works fine though many evo 9 owners have done it that way so they dont have to spend so much on OEM.

There are plenty of guys that do run the gates pump on their IXs. Despite that I just replaced the water pump in my IX. I went OEM cause my OCD would have bothered me about the missing bolt/bracket combo. Got mine from extremepsi.com for $229 shipped.

 

Too bad the evo9 oem replacement pumps leak.

 

I recently did my timing belt and put a GMB (148-2000) pump on it.. and so far no issues. the only thing is, it doesn't have 1 hole for a bolt on a bracket with 4.. not critical to me.
