I have the 20-200in-lb one, but the one you listed would work fine too.

11A-35 does not show putting it on the front and the back ... so maybe its different depending on what section you look in.

@hutch959 are you referring to the top part of this image? or something else?

thats an evo 8 pic above.

if you go to the evo 9 manual... 11A-35, it only shows to put it at the cams.

ahhh ok great. didn't realize the 8 was different from the 9.

do you guys know how to get this line/clip off? it crosses over the valve cover. looks like there's a bolt at the back of the bracket, a 14mm - i assume i have to take that off?

got it - pulled up on the plug - was pulling up on it with all my force and it wouldn't budge and then i must have just gotten the right angle cuz the plug just popped out easily.

(plug 3 in diagram)

That connector slides up and off. I think I have been able to pull it off by just wiggling it. I don't remember it being a problem that's for sure.

sorry, last question of the evening. everything is off now and damn this thing is not budging... where/how can i pry on the valve cover to pull it off?

double checked, all bolts should be off. 4 bolts on the timing belt cover, 7 inside/in the middle, and 3 in front and 3 in back, plus the 2 hoses and brackets around the motor.

another thread said to stick the handle of a hammer into the oil fill and use it to pry the valve cover off - i can try that too. i should lift so that it comes up on the side closer to the timing belt, i assume, to clear the cams gears and whatever? i've tapped lightly with a rubber mallet also, btu obviously don't want to go to town on it. the valve cover hasn't been off in ~7 years, so I assume it's stuck nice and good.

::edit: valve cover is off, whoo hoo! hammer handle in the oil fill worked perfectly to pry it off

congrats! plenty of time to clean up the gasket surfaces while you are waiting on those parts.

lmao yes. did i not mention what happened? i went to top off some oil with red line, and it's got this little paper seal in the cap. well, instead of staying in the cap, it stuck to the bottle. didn't realize, and i had barely tipped the bottle when it fluttered in. smh
