*HELP* Will these weird injectors work for my evo 8??
*HELP* Will these weird injectors work for my evo 8??
Please read the entire post. I need genuine answers from people with relevant experience.
Soo... I purchase these injectors about a month ago on the Strictly Modified facebook page. I will not yet name any names because that's not what this post is about. This post is about the injectors I purchased.
The seller told me these injectors would undoubtedly work in my 2004 Evo 8 with e85. I had my concerns and he assured me they were fine. I also went out of my way to reach out to the owner of the company that manufactured these injectors and the owner vouched for the seller. He also acknowledged that the injectors would work on my 2004 evo 8 without problems since he is the one that manufactured them.
So here is a picture of the injectors I bought next to my ID1000. You can guess which the ID is i'm sure.

As you can see the stem is super long. Basically an inch longer than any other evo 8 injectors on the market.
My tuner, who will also be un-named, could not get these scaled correctly at all. The o2 correction was acting funky and they don't seem to tune very linear. He is one of the best tuners in my area and i'm not just saying that.
Anyway, the seller of these injectors REFUSES to give me my money back for these and I don't want to sell these to some unsuspecting newbie like myself.
My three questions are:
1) Do you think these will work on an evo 8?
2) If not, do you think the seller of these should give me a refund?
3) What else do you think I should do? Take my losses, buy new injectors and throw these away? Since I don't even know what they COULD go to, if not an evo 8.
Thank you for your help!

I did purchase through PayPal but I was hoping to get some hard facts first. If these are not usable I wanted to send him a link to this thread and then file a dispute, and even possibly use this thread for PayPal in case they decide to question the dispute.
If the seller listed the injectors specifically for an Evo VIII/IX and sent ones for an Evo X, I'd say you have a case. Do your research and make sure the injectors are for an Evo X. Contact the manufacturer again and see if you can get verification the injectors are made specifically for an Evo X.

The manufacturer told me these are for an evo 8.

To be clear with my previous post, I was implying that you should get the manufacturer to explicitly state that the injectors are made for an Evo X. That way you can make your case with PayPal.
I did read. Stay with me now. You stated the manufacturer told you these "would" work for an Evo 8. Quite a bit different from saying they "are made for" an Evo 8. See the difference?

Okay now we are on the same page. I messaged him, waiting to hear back.
His exact words when I asked if these will work with my evo 8 were: "Yes that is correct fitment. If you don't like the extended tip you can buy hats to put on the bottom, and send them in to have the tops machined. They work great, no reason to worry."
I will see if he responds and report back.

He says they were made for the evo 8/9 and dsm applications.
No Evo 8/9 injector has the extended pintle tip. It does not work in our cars. That thing is probably stick out halfway into the intake port and shooting the fuel onto the floor of the port, causing all kinds of atomization and mixture issues.
It seems the general consensus though is that these are not going to work
PayPal will award you threw in in a dispute. Just include that live of an actual Evo 8 injector va what was you bought and say, "see, it's totally different and that why it doesn't work." PayPal aren't car people, they'll just see the parts don't match and you'll win the dispute.
