Safe Driver Monitor
well what i was talking about was half driver-less cars but also cars that you drive, but that wont let you crash them. We are already getting there, there are cars that will brake for you or prevent you from making unsafe lane changes, stability/traction control etc etc. Basically at some point it will be more the computer driving the car then we are even if we still feel like we are in control. People enjoy driving but big brother AI will be there to keep us from doing stupid stuff. I don't think its a bad thing either, because who likes crashing. You could comfortably push the limits of the car and know the computer will keep you, and others safe. I could even see the car coaching you like an instructor at the track, who is ready to take the wheel if things get a little crazy.
I notice I go WOT at every stop sign. Until the turbo spins up the car has little power. WOT gets air to the turbo. I am doing this for several seconds just to achieve normal acceleration in traffic. So, a Safe Driver Monitor would show WOT a lot. In other words, a Safe Driver Monitor is not going to work for this car.
