Roadrunner transportation. Beware! Horror story:
Sounds like your luck is about as good as mine. Sucks to hear it man, sounds like a very frustrating and painful situation to deal with. Props to STM for commenting on here and helping you out through the ordeal. I'm scared to ever order a block now that needs to be shipped.

Just be aware: freight drivers have no one to answer to and no way to be tracked. The companies can take as long as they like and make up all the excuses they want. There is no real accountability. There also are no consequences for them not being on time. I have never, ever, EVER Had a truck arrive on time.
Shipment should have been off the East Coast LONG before any of those storms hit. Given that their pick up/drop off/tracking info is complete and utter bull ****, who really knows?
Unfortunately, I'm wanting OEM reliability and durability. I have yet to see a built engine go 115k miles before needing a rebuild.

No more for me.
As for TSComptuned, I was going to go that route, too but he's a really hard person to converse with (in relation to time). I run a 6spd, so a built block isn't all that necessary, anyway.
Shippers should have established relationships with companies if they ship soooooooooo much...
the company should be aware that this company ships high priced engine parts and know how to ship/handle it properly.

You paid the shipper and he chose said freight company so he should deal with it if any issues
arise.

Kaj, I know how you feel, whenever 1 thing goes right for me, 2 things always go wrong, always..
I wouldn't even be surprised if you reported you got a used shortblock.
I remember I ordered a autometer oil pressure gauge from a WELL known vendor, and anyone who uses autometer knows that they come sealed with a tamper proof sticker !
I received the package on time, opened the box, huh, seals broke.
Take the gauge out, Teflon tape already on it, oil dripping out.
I was pissed off, and got even more pissed off because they said that they mailed me a BRAND NEW ITEM.
It took me 3 weeks to get 68.70 back, let me repeat, it took a well known company 3 WEEKS to refund 68.70.
We do find better prices online, but we take huge risks because it ain't like you can go to the store if a discrepancy is present, we are at the vendors mercy pretty much, hoping for honesty and integrity.
Kaj, all I can say is the devil is harassing you right now, if this new shortblock arrives DAMAGED, document it, reject it, take 10 detailed shots on the truck.
Send the email to the vendor, call the credit card company and send them a email, and open a claim damaged goods.
The driver should have a handheld device for a e-signature, record him typing customer rejecting damaged freight, don't put his face in the shot, and let him know that you ARE recording.
Place your signature in the designated area, and that should be the end of the conversation.
But let's hope that it arrives in one piece, intact.

But you have your reasoning for using a OEM shortblock.

And I have to disagree with you on the 115k comment, I'm under the impression that this is a track dedicated car, it would take a pretty long time to round up that many miles if your only doing so many events per year.
But you have your reasoning for using a OEM shortblock.

I have $3,300 sitting on a credit card, collecting interest so it's in my best interest to get involved.

I received the second one on the 21st. Finally. It was on a pallet and strapped down.
My return went back on the 17th, due for the 28th of this month, so still no refund. I had to make my first credit card payment, with the short block on it. It was double my normal payment. So, now I'm out THAT money as well as STM will not give me a refund until they receive the damaged part.
Extra costs that I didn't expect are:
$100 extra for shipping to have it here on the 7th, instead of the 10th, so i could make my event that weekend. It showed up two weeks later, so I paid $100 for nothing.
$70 additional to my credit card payment.
$200 entry fees for events I've missed since the engine was delayed two weeks (protip: don't sign up for **** until your car is ready. Never assume you will get parts on time LOL).
plus other miscellaneous crap I'm blocking out for the sake of staying sane
It's been a horrible experience that I'll never do this again. I also recommend to everyone to NOT go the freight route. I know you gotta do what you gotta do, but beware. Allow for at LEAST two extra weeks of time. Don't be on any type of time/deadline and have lots of extra money avail, just in case.
Being $6500 into a ****ing shortblock is ridiculous.

Wow, it's a fantastic car but it costs us so much down the road. If I didn't hate ford or though tthe new CTR looks like a 90's grab bag, I might have gone for either of those, but for some reason the IX holds my heart and bank account
