EVO Newbie, Tips/Tricks for Driving?
Recently picked up a 2005 Evo VIII MR, previously had a WRX. If anyone could give me any tips tricks on driving it would be appreciated. For example Ive had someone tell me I should double clutch each shift, is there any truth to that? Anything helps!
^^Don't listen to those guys. Their post counts mean nothing.
You have to hold the clutch down and shift through 1-6. There's no reason to shift in these cars.

Hint: Trolling
Just drive. It's a better car. It takes upgrades a lot better than your rex and if you read the forums and listen to guys like the demon and kaj, you are going to be glad you joined the group of evo owners. It's fun being an owner of a car you might see once every few months if you are lucky. Unless your in a huge evo community or go to car shows/meets often.

If you need to do special shifting then the car has issues.
A. Clutch drag
B.Synchro issues.
My evo 8 locks me out at high rpm and makes me grind and have to let rpm drop before i can finally set the next speed. But i obviously have a issue.

Congratulations on your recent purchase!
Rev match for more seamless downshifts and to save clutch life. Heal-toe shift to maintain high RPM when exiting a corner. Clutch in completely through every shift, not just 80% of the way (even though it can let you). Don't launch the car. Be respectful of other drivers on the road even though you are now much faster, better looking, and better sounding than they are.
