Wont start again
Wont start again
Okay two days ago i was driving my evo 8 everthing went fine no problems with it..then went to drive it the next day wouldn't start it was left in my driveway when I finish driving it next day it was cold like 30 something and raining my first thought was that it was cold so it wont start..but now when i try to start it i hear the thud so i gave it a lil gas nothing not no fuel pump it prims and good to go?? Any thoughts
First off just because you can hear a pump prime doesn't mean the pump is good. When a pump starts failing ofter it will still pump gas but will not be able to make the pressure that it needs.
Check for spark as well. You could have no spark for many reasons.

try to start it with starting fluid if it runs then you have a fuel problem, i also agree with supal1111,
but like i said try to start the car with starting fluid, spray some in side your intake, you can get it at walmart or your local part store. good luck

Yea thats a really good idea, never really though about using the starter fluid on a FI car but it should work and it should give him some info

yeah i use it all the time when i get a car with no start first thing i check electrical make sure i have 12v if the car cranks and dont start i always have a can of starting fluid in my tool box, it works on most vehicles including f.i.
Yeah there is a little bit of an update. I ended up breaking my arm dislocating my elbow called the terrible triad. I was loading my car on a trailer when I stepped over my winch wire ended up catching my toe as stepping over it and stumbling and falling off my trailer breaking my arm pretty bad. I am post-op 2 weeks and I'm pretty messed up. I do know that the cranking no sensor is the problem. I am taking the car to a different shop and have them do the work being and now that I am totally unable to do that. I will let you know in a couple weeks when I hear more

Thanks guys, it's going to be a long road for sure. I have full faith in the shop that I was bringing it to that they could fix it. As far as me I have a long road ahead and it's really hard not to be upset and depressed. I was hopefully going to race this year in the shootout which didn't work. Things just have fallen apart for me and it's kind of a dark time. On the light of things I know I will heal things in my life I know will be better but it sure sucks not to be able to drive for at least 3 to 4 months. Insurance is only going to cover 60% and 60% doesn't cover a whole lot of my bills so I'm trying to think of other things to do to help. Thankfully my car insurance will help pay some of that as well being that it happened on my trailer and all that's covered by my car insurance. Hopefully the girls start soon and it will help me he'll better knowing that the car will be ready to go when I'm ready to go. Thanks for the support from everybody therapy is going to be a *****. I'll do my best to be 100% by next year but I will have at least a year to a year and a half of recovery.
