Speed shops dwindled down to almost nothing in Hawaii. If you want to mod you'll have to buy online and install yourself or make friends. Hawaii car transport uses matson. I believe Rad Motorsports still has their book of tuners and have not been to their new shop, old one closed a year ago maybe. Anything changing the appearance of your car will require a permit, that will become good if you change something after the permit was approved. GL.

Okay so this is a stupid question. So has anyone who shipped there cars encountered any problems? Like noticed that gears were messed up or anything like that? Do you think the people driving the cars will be able to find reverse with out any problems? Considering my car is the MR?

I haven't had any problems with shipping from my evo from San Diego to Hawaii. My car is an MR also.

There shouldn't be an issue. S2000 and 350z you have to push down the lever to get into reverse. Same with VW cars. The person who will be inspecting the car will pretty much ask you or you can tell them, then it's a matter of them writing it down.

Shipped my car through matson and I'm sure they hated my quartermaster twin disc but it made it on and off the boat without issues.

did you have an alarm with it? If so did you have to take out the Alarm or can you leave it on? Do you have to disable it?

They drive so many cars so often that there shouldn't be an issue. I'd be more worried about abuse and physical damage. My driver seat got a tear in it when my car was shipped to HI back in 2006. They wouldn't cover it because it was considered "normal wear and tear". When my car was shipped from Korea to WA two of my gauge cables were severed near where they pass through the firewall. Guess what wasn't covered?

Just make sure you set your rev limit low on the car/enable valet mode and track your mileage to the tenth before dropping it off.

Leave your remote with the key so if it goes crazy they can turn it off. I took a pic of the odometer and trip meter, only to find less then a mile was put on. Like I said, I'm sure they hated my clutch. Lol. You will get the paper but you'll need title or Letter from the bank, less then 1/4 tank of gas, clean inside and out without personal belongings not bolted to car. They mark all damages on the paper.
