Jack stand points 7-9

There's a lot of threads on this subject but I didn't want to necro. But when doing jack stands should they be going in to the grooves.

Or is it better to rotate them 90 degrees and sit them that way.

Saw your pic. I prefer to rotate them 90 degrees from what you have done (safer). Use the deep vee jack stand.
When I use the hydraulic jack at those jack points, I place a piece of cardboard on top to cushion that pinch weld
Below is the service manual noting a flat stand w/a rubber top

For the front I never put anything on the pinch weld except the jack from the trunk.

If you look at the circle on the above diagram for the front, just inboard of the pinch weld and behind the fender liner is a bracket/brace I use. At the rear, less important, less weight.
