So someone told me that jdm evos are labelled Fq***
and Uk are GSR, MR and RS

I just need to know for sure which one is mine.
Here are the details I think that are relevant.

Registration just says "2003 Mitsubishi Evolution VIII"

Chassis No. CT9A - 0204424
6-Speed Transmission
Just written "evolution" on the center console
No badges as it was repainted
Has the JDM style PCV valve, (the blue one)
Has a MAF but no MAP sensor.
Roof is attracted to magnets
Came with an EGR which I got rid of.

Prev country was singapore, and I cant know what was before that.

Any help will greatly be appreciated.

 

If you have a 6 speed, isn't it a MR?

 

Could be a six speed RS.

Do you have A/C and power windows?

FQs are sold in the UK.

 

FQ are UK, not JP.

 

Not an MR, doesn't have an aluminum roof.

Why not use the Mitsu VIN decoder?

 

CT9A Coded chassis number are JDM. Singapore does not import in UK spec FQs nor USDMs

 

Okay, So that makes mine a JDM GSR and I heard those don't come in 6 speed, atleast the 03 models

 

lol but my jdm gsr is a 6 speed, and its an 03 model.. sooo *shrugs*

IIRC, the 8s GSR in Singapore were 6speeds, which matches up exactly to what you have, a JDM spec'd Evo 8 GSR.
