Engine oil leak

hi guys. I have this oil leak I need some input on
new short block installed, new oil pump, seals, water pump the whole works but ever since I have a oil leak
when the car runs it fine but when its parked over night a huge puddle forms under the left side just under the pulleys
the oil in the engine goes down to half on the stick after a couple of days but it only leaks when the engine is off
The usual suspects the oil cooler lines the oil pan the oil seal is dry. Will be double checking the turbo oil return line where it connect to the oil pan even as I just installed new bolts and seals
what I'm I missing guys????
any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanx

Just make sure the dye is for oil. Cause there is refrigerant dye also

My guess would be you have a timing component bolt threaded into an oil gallery, it leaks plenty when running but is mostly contained in the timing cover until parked and then the oil drains onto the pavement.

As silly as it sounds you could also have a loose drain plug in the pan. It would stop being silly if it falls out. Worth checking.

Dip stick on the block, and make sure you used sealant in the appropriate areas of the valve cover also.

ok guys i tackled it early this morning only to have the car not starting at all
i mean turn the key and all the lights in the dash comes on i hear the fuel pump priming away and nothing not even a click so long story short i had a bad starter eventually i got 1 and installed it right away and im back in business. so back to my original problem
i cleaned up everything and added the dye and ran it up to temp then let it cool off and low and behold i see oil coming from the turbo return line where it connects to the oil pan so i removed and reeplace the gasket again but this time i added some right stuff just for extra precaution. i did it just like the oil pan i let the set up and the bolt it up snuggly and the torque it down after 20mins
its still up on the ramp and hopefully tomorrow when its completely dry ill check to see if that works
thanx guys
and as i said ill let u guys know what happens!!!!!! good or bad

Ok I had a long day. It started out with the oil leak fixed. What I did worked like a charm. So I did a PM on the car. Engine oil and filter, new oil in tranny, transfer case and rear diff. I tried to start the car and nothing so it wasn't the starter alone so I got a new ignition switch and install it right away and the car started right up. I disconnected the battery again and did a driver side axle seal. Refill the tranny and connected the battery and while I was doing that the wrench slipped and hit the positive battery terminal and sparked. Immediately the idle when high and on the drive it wasn't ok at all. I shut it down for 20mins and when we tried to restart it nothing we push start it and got about 1000yrds and it died completely. Had to get it towed home (thanx geico). After checking around I figured out the 100amp fuse on the positive terminal blew. My question now is will that cause the car to die completely???? And what else did I damage???
After replacing the engine harness that the tuner burnt I think I know the answer to the 1st question but the 2nd is the 64gran question. I'm gonna replace the positive fuse block and hope for the best.
I will post whatever happen so it can help someone else who have or may have the same issue in the future
Any help here would be greatly appreciated guys
Thanx

The fusible link blows to protect stuff. Get that replaced and see if the car runs ok afterwards.

Yea get it replaced stm has them.

They are desined to burn or "pop" at a certain amperage flow. To prevent your harness to burn instead.

Ordered the positive terminal fuse block from dealer. I'll get it tomorrow and install it and hope for the best.
I got the car last year June and rebuilt the engine new, clutch kit,and thousands of dollars of parts and between working and spending time with my daughter(they grow up fast) and just bad weather here in FL I haven't driven the car in anger yet. It's just been 1 thing after the other. But I hope I'll get there soon.
As always I'll let u guys know what happens good or bad!!!!
Thanx guys

I got the fuse block and installed it right away and it fired up on the 1st try so I drove around the parking lot and all seams well. Man I'm glad I couldn't sleep last night I was too worried.
So my oil leak is cured and all the other issues are done
Thanx guys for all the helpful chimes

Hope you learned your lesson. Next time you work on a battery be more careful. Same goes for any electrical wire that has power. If it touches ground its gonna short something out. Be it a fuse or even a module.

Small engine oil leak

Hey guys, I have a small leak coming from the bottom of my engine. It looks like the oil filter is overfilled but I'm not totally sure. My buddy says it has to be the oil filter because it looks like it's overfilled but he was not too positive either. The leak does seem to be coming from the filter however I cannot really tell. Any help is appreciate it, thank you.
