This dealership is selling an EVO 8 but the car looks like the previous owner neglected the Evo. On the carfax, it shows that there has been 6 previous owner which is scary for me since I don't know what those owners have done to the car. The websites and the picture will be listed below. I'm tempted to test drive it due to the price and miles but I definitely feel like the previous owner swapped out modded parts for stock parts and sold it off as stock. The vin is JA3AH86D85U050262. The bumper is gone due to the previous owner trading the car in without a bumper. Please let me know what you guys think of this car and if its worth it. I believe I can lower the price a bit but isn't sure if its worth it.

Without getting into the bigger issues, I will start by saying the 'AEM' intercooler is a stock intercooler with a spray painted logo.
This car is pieced together to say the least.

 

I've been looking around for Evo 8 and 9 but most of them are too pricey. This is the only evo I found that has decent mileage for a decent price but comes to find out the evo seem to be having cosmetic issues which worries me about other problems it may have. Getting a new bumper isn't a big deal but it's the long run that would worry me. Do you believe this car is worth the price?

you can get a clean high-mileage evo for that price.

save up more money and buy a better example. you're going to spend more in the long run buying a cheap car that has issues

Just because it's a lower initial price doesn't always mean you're getting a good deal. If you think about the additional cost that it may take in order to bring it back to a "good" condition.. it may add up to a lot more than if you were to just spend a little more up front. Plus, you don't know how the other owners cared for it (but could take a pretty good guess at it from the pictures)

in my humble opinion that does not look good.
Cars like the evo should be well cared for, seeing the engine bay and the interior especially would make me run away.
I said no to an R33 GT-R due to the interior condition.
I may be a bit above normal paranoid about the condition of the car, but the evo i ended up buying came squeaky clean from Japan.

So for me at least, worth the wait to find that perfect one, and not go for the first and cheapest.

 

good for spares, I'd say 3k to 4k, but if you are looking at these sorts of cars in this condition plan for a lot of down time and money to get them up to scratch

But seriously it looks like crap. Save yourself the headaches.
Ill put money that there are loose bolts, boost leaks, and other neglect that isnt visible at first glance.

I agree with everyone, forget about this car. Pictures show neglect, abuse, and most likely torture. Its missing the front crash beam, and front bumper. Also the factory hood is missing. This may indicate a front end collision sometime in its life. Hood is faded, interior doesn't even have floor mats. Heck I found a pack of usable pack of floor mats at my local dollar store.
Turn away and never look back.
