Car is running 11.1 with OG Green @ 123 mph....changed to ef4 dont like it
Has this happened to anyone I am on a 2.3 and the EF4 is seeing full boost at 4400 vs my old OG Green hitting full boost at 3800 RPM. I feel buyer regret and should have just gone to an HTA73 to get that power bump or even an HTA71.
Anyone with input ? I loved my car old feel it felt like an awd v8 car.

How does the OG fp green compare to the 71hta?
Is the ef4 supposed to be compared to the FP black? Does it feel too laggy for you? Does it not give as hard as a push back in your seat? Does it feel laggy but hit hard once its spooled up?
Reason I'm asking is because I am currently running a 71hta and I love the way the car feels right now but would still like a bit more pull from the car. Just don't want to regret going up in turbo size. Im currently looking at getting an FP black or FP red, but leaning more towards the black.

Ran slower on an EF4 than I did with a stock evo 9 turbo. They are garbage. I would avoid them at all cost. I had one that the turbine housing was machined off center from the factory causing the turbo to touch down and they tried to make me pay for their mistake. Not a fan at all of MAP.

I hear that. I almost regret going from stock to hta73. Not really, but I very much miss the snappy torque of a stock turbo. Hta73 is a good turbo tho - and should be nothing but an improvement over an OG green. I'd like to say that the green stayed like a green even through its revisions...up until the stainless housing movement anyway. From OG to 73hta, I think they only changed designs where airflow could be improved without changing the character or the segment that the turbo served. And the 71hta is so good it doesn't even need to be messed with. However with a 2.3 the 71 will be overwhelmed. It can be done and would make a fun ride, but with a 73 I'd bet you would pick up power everywhere compared to your OG green setup.
You aren't the first one to regret an EF turbo. They just don't get it done...when compared to their competition.
