Help me identify this cut wire under dash.

In the process of repairing a 2004 evo that was in a minor crash. Fixing collapsed steering wheel, replacing passenger airbag and dash.

While removing the dash I noticed a factory black wire that was cut behind the stereo. I marked a red line next to it, any idea what this wire is for? Just want to be sure before I put the new dash back on.

That looks aftermarket to me. Possibly for old speakers or sub that could have been installed in the past?

I wasn’t sure cause the way it’s routed and tucked by the firewall looks oem. Where’s it’s ran would be nearly
impossible to get to unless you removed the dash. I wouldn’t think someone would remove a dash to install a sub.

Did some Evos come with a factory sub?

Yes, some came with subs on 04-06 if they had the SSL package. Did yours come with factory leather and moonroof? If it came with those items factory on 04-06, it was an SSL and had a factory sub.

antenna.

one side of the wire goes to the radio harness plug (i think a yellow wire), other side goes to the antenna plug that goes in the back of the radio.
