Evo 8 temperature gauge

New to evos just got my first one about a month ago and had a question about the temperature gauge. Should the temperature gauge be pointing below the temp logo or right in the middle of it?

Youre referring to the water temp gauge?

Ill have to check next heat cycle, but yeah, likely std position maybe at the 9 o'clock

Hey welcome aboard. We hope to see you active on the EvOM boards

Years ago when driving a DSM I heard about and bought a safety thermostat. It had a second wax pellet engine that would open the thermostat if the first failed and a set of catches that would then hold the thermostat open. The coolant had to get extra hot for this second wax pellet to activate.

So, install the new thermostat, take the car out and give it the beans and the thermostat locks open. This thermostat was unusable in a 4G63 turbo DSM due to the immense heat this little engine can put out at WOT.

The temperature gauge in my more powerful Evo engine stays nice and steady no matter how I drive it. How can this be? It can be because the gauge lies. It only shows hot if it is really hot. Otherwise, nice and steady.
