New to the forum so hello. I bought my 2003 evo 8 last year with 108k it now has 110k. The car is basically stock(intake and exhaust) and it runs so good it brings a big smile to my face everytime I get in it. I thought about power upgrades but to afraid it will screw something up. When they first came out I wanted one and dont understand why I didnt get one. Always loved this car. Everything is super clean on the car except the engine bay which I will tackle when I retire in less then 2yrs.

Original owner IX here ... 155K miles. Only has a tune. I've pretty much maintained it with stock parts according to the owner's manual since new ... nothing more. OEM fluids every 30K, timing belt, etc, every 60K, etc. Shocks, radiator, wheel bearings ... nothing more than a 'normal' car would need over 13 years. My oil cooler developed a leak, my accessory belt tensioner froze up, and I had to re-shim my A/C compressor, my fuel door spring broke ... I mean, these probably totalled $500 for OEM parts. The only big-ticket failure I had was the ACD pump (galvanic corrosion). Now I coat the new one with Boeshield every year, and it seems to help. No leaks, no (zero) oil consumption (regular ole M1 10W-30), and I daily drive it all year, as well as do one or two track days per year ... meaning I'm driving it as intended Oh ... I also have the original clutch, and have no plans to replace it any time soon. It honestly drives as good as the day I bought it. To this day, I'm amazed how reliable this car is.

I don't even have 80k on my IX that I bought new, but I wonder if this car is still around? Signature says 423k

Here are my three keys to Evo longevity that I have learned over 13 years of ownership ... 1.) Religious maintenance per the owner's manual recommendations with OEM parts exclusively 2.) Don't get greedy with the HP. Stock, the Evo is incredibly reliable, even in a racing environment (I race mine). You can't expect to double the factory output and have it still be reliable. 3.) Respect the car. The car is designed to be driven hard, but you can't expect an AWD car to take hundreds of 6K RPM clutch dumps on high mu surfaces without breaking something. I'll throw a bonus tip (as I am an OEM auto engineer) ... 95% of aftermarket parts are junk. Pick your mods carefully.

Thanks biggie shes my baby I'll have her for along time. The funny thing is all my cars were black and I never really liked yellow but when I saw it with the black accents I was sold. Putting side skirt extensions and carbon fiber window pillar covers on this weekend.

155000 on my 2005. Owned it since 2006. Licp, downpipe, cat back, spoolin up kit, no tune. Did 2 timing belt jobs, water pump, rear main seal, oil pan reseal, radiator, fan switch, cooling system hoses, oil pressure switch, clutch, drivetrain and acd fluid changes, and all the associated stuff like tires and brakes. Doing all the work myself saved a ton of money. Car drives like the same day I bought it 13 years ago. Will see 300000 miles easy. Love my evo!

2003 Evo VIII owned since 2008 just pass 150000 miles. My biggest issue transmission destroyed 2,3,4 gears during 1/4 mile pass in 2018. Had the transmission rebuilt by T.R.E no complaint I'm a happy customer. Other than that one more tune to get as close to 600 hp on E85

You could get up to about 450whp on e85 before running out of injector, if you don't mind pushing them a bit. That's not bad at all.
