First off this is one of my only posts since I joined way back in 2013 or so. If I would have tried to be a part of the community maybe I wouldn't be looking at the possibility of selling my Evo IX MR but I digress. I wanted to put this out there and ask if anyone else has noticed this. While I was looking at KBB trade in values it seems like the have the trims all wrong. The trade in values are as follows for good condition. Standard Evo IX 13,409 - 15,890, Evo 9 RS 15,481 - 18,350, Evo IX MR 11,973 - 14,182. I know it's been a while since I've actually looked at these values, I don't think I've done it since I bought the car but I was almost certain that the MR was the highest trim not the lowest. If this is still the case then KBB really screwed something up and it's negatively effecting the values of those of us that own MRs. I emailed KBB about the discrepancy but I received the standard we'll look into it response. Just wanted to get the community's take on this. If I am completely wrong about this then I accept the consequences of being flamed forever and I'll be sent to exile.
For sure, resale values have risen for the EvO 8 & 9 here in the US. Make sure you check our Market place as there are always active FS threads
Prices are mixed based on condition & such. The KBB values maybe correct & maybe just a bit low compared to real street prices. Maybe the RS has the highest resale due to its limited production numbers. I kinda forget how many MR's were produced vs the other models (those no.s are posted all over the forum if you search)
If you have any model EvO 8 / 9 & the miles are below 100K & its in excellent shape, expect a sell price north of $20K
I understand trading it in would be pretty foolish. Private party value was still showing the lowest on the MR. Even less than a regular IX which is what really had me confused. I can maybe understand the RS due to rarity but less than a regular IX? Something has to be wrong.
I think thats just the market, MR's may just be less desirable because of the weaker 6 speed transmission. I wouldn't be surprised if most people looking at buying an evo probably have some grand plan for it.

If you want, post up some pics, including engine bay & a list of Mods / miles etc & we will assess the value right here!
I probably should. Also, the reason I'm so butthurt about KBB's assessment is because it's not like my MR is in pristine condition lol. I bought it from some guy in the Chicago area about 6 years ago. It had some mods but had it tuned very conservatively and I lost track of the list that I had of what had been done to it. It had a tune from AMS at 313whp and 299wtq. The exterior is not the greatest condition. Plenty of paint chips on the hood and a few dents here and there. Bumper is also scratched when my dad accidentally backed it up too far against his retaining wall lol. Honestly, I'm probably just better off holding on to it since it's paid for.

This, the MR market tends to run cheaper due to the trans. I personally like the 6 speed better, but most of the enthusiasts tend to sway.
Edit: They also made more MR models in 06 than standard. That could saturate the values more.
