Coolant Leak/Transfer Case question

Coolant doesn't run through the transfer case housing, does it? I ask because there is a coolant leak that appears to come from the connection between the transfer case and the transmission on my Evo 8.

I'm guessing something is leaking on top of the transfer case and it's running along the joint to make it appear to be leaking between the transfer case and tranny. Bu I want to make sure that I don't have to worry about it being a gasket between the two.

Correct, no coolant runs through the xcase and tranny. Id check the water lines running to your turbo as I've had a similar leak that stemmed from those and noticed coolant sitting on my trans bell housing.

Right. That leak is either coming from your throttle body lines or turbo coolant lines. There are also the heater core lines that could leak over your trans if the hole is in the right place.

Right you are! It's the hose to the throttle body. Should be a quick fix as soon as I can pick up some hose.

Thanks to all of you who got it right. What great forum this is!
