I just picked up an 03. The front passenger dor wont open. almost like its locked. I have tried to unlock manually, with the power locks and with the key. Any one have any tricks outside of ripping off the door card and getting in there?

 

Only thing i would try is soaking the door latch in rust penetrant using a straw and spraying it from the outside between the front and rear door. Let it soak for a day or two and hope it will free up what it siezed. Other than that, i would just buy a new door panel and latch and just be as careful as you can when breaking into the latch. I have had to do that before a few times at the dealer.

 

Have a pro see if they can break into it. One of the internal linkages may have broken/fallen apart.

 

Do you feel anything loose inside the door?

 

I'm having the same problem with a buddy's Evo. We have the door card off and everything but can't get the latch to unlock.
any updates to this problem would be appreciated!

 

Is the lock unlatching manually? Like can you wiggle the connecting rod in the door? It's up in the corner and kinda tricky to get at but if you can you should be able to unlock/open the door. The top right brass barrel things rod is what you're after.
