Hey guys thinking about installing a JMF or MAP 02 dump to my evo 8. Car is completely bone stock. I like the quiet while I’m normal “city driving” but on the highway like to hear a little noise if I wanna let loose. Gonna be getting a tune soon with bolt ons but for now would like to know if it’s safe to run on a stock tune with and 02 dump. I know it may throw my AFR’s off a little and I won’t get the most power out of the 02 dump unless I have a tune. Mainly doing it for some noise. Help guys! Thanks

 

I would just wait until you have everything on and are ready to tune.

 

It may or may not be ok. But if you wing it moving forward it most likely will not work well.

IF it makes more boost on the stock timing map it will need to be retuned to run well. Higher load with change what timing its running.

Do some research before gambling with your investment.
Follow the rules.
Create a goal for your build and you will have good results .
This platform is almost 20 years old and there are plenty of recipes out there.
